Job Description

This client are innovators within the High Speed domain focussed on the development of Mixed Signal ICs and systems for a wide range of products in the data communication domain.

They are searching for an experienced validation engineer to join their team of experts in Bristol.

Role Overview

  • Performing laboratory-based RF testing with a good working knowledge of both high-speed digital semiconductor testing and optical component testing and a strong fundamental lab-based test engineering knowledge.
  • Participate in new product design meetings and drive test feature development as required for the successful evaluation of new products.
  • Assist in designing the validation solution development for new products (software/hardware/documentation).
  • Identification of bench-top test equipment for the validation of new product.
  • Generation of test equipment automation software using Python or Labview.
  • Collaborate with designers, product, test, and applications engineers.
  • Participate in validation review meetings.
  • Creation of validation reports.
  • Testing of high-speed optical components, IC’s, or modules.
  • Taking high-speed measurements in a lab environment on products operating at data rates of 10Gbit/s and above.
  • Utilising existing knowledge of high-speed signal integrity for schematic entry/layout using Altium PCB tools.

  • BSc/MSc in EE/ECE or HNC/HND with 6 years of relevant work experience.
  • Able to work under pressure in a highly paced, dynamic R&D environment.
  • Excellent team-player who positively interacts and shares knowledge.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Capable of self-study/training/learning.
  • Proven analytical and problem-solving skills.
