Grade B: £42,044 (National) or £47,900 (London – for London office based or homebased workers within the boundary of the M25) – There is also an additional homeworking allowance of £600 per annum for those working from home. For part-time roles – please note this will be pro rata.
Contracted Hours:
- Full-time: 37 hours per week
- Part-time: minimum of 30 hours per week. Talk to us about compressed hours.
Contract Type:
The role is offered on a Fixed Term / Secondment basis until 31 March 2027 – MNSI programme and associated funding.

Location:
Home-based OR office-based opportunity, flexible location. You can also opt for hybrid working (3 office days and 2 days a week from home). CQC’s offices are in London, Newcastle, Leeds, Nottingham, and Bristol.

The Maternity and Newborn Safety Investigations (MNSI) programme is hosted by and sits within the Care Quality Commission (CQC). The programme works with a wide range of external stakeholders with a focus on system-based safety investigations and families and staff being core to all aspects of its work.
As a Senior Stakeholder Relations Advisor within the MNSI Programme, you'll help ensure MNSI works collaboratively and is informed by the people and organisations it works with. You'll build meaningful relationships with a wide range of stakeholders and help shape how MNSI listens, learns, and shares its work to improve maternity and newborn safety.
Picture this
In the last 12 months, as the Senior Stakeholder Relations Advisor, you could have:
- Led the delivery of MNSI's stakeholder relationship strategy, strengthened existing, and identified new relationships and collaborative approaches with partners across the health and care sector. Designed and delivered engagement activities that increased awareness and understanding of MNSI investigations and findings among key external audiences.
- Identified and built new opportunities for collaborative working with external organisations, to support programme priorities and inform national policy and learning.
- Worked collaboratively as part of the MNSI communications and engagement team, including supporting content development.
- Been part of and initiated new ideas in line with MNSI strategic priorities.
You'll play a key role in the organisation by:
- Planning and delivering stakeholder engagement activities with a wide range of audiences, including families, NHS organisations, government partners, patient groups, and national bodies.
- Maintaining stakeholder maps, identifying new engagement opportunities, and helping coordinate programmes of planned activity.
- Preparing briefings, presentations, stakeholder updates, and communication materials to support senior leaders and external engagement.
- Managing stakeholder networks, webinars, forums, and partnership activities to share information and gather feedback.
- Providing stakeholder insight, identifying emerging risks and opportunities.

What we're looking for in your application:
- Experience leading stakeholder engagement, communications, or public affairs activity that delivered clear outcomes for an organisation or programme.
- Experience building and maintaining effective relationships with a variety of stakeholders, including senior leaders, partner organisations, or external groups, and using those relationships to achieve shared objectives.
- Experience producing and presenting clear written and verbal briefings, updates, or recommendations while managing multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Experience of working independently and within a team often to short deadlines.
