Role Overview
We're scaling fast, and we're looking for a Senior Strategic Account Manager to take strategic ownership of some of our highest value client relationships. You'll be the commercial driving force behind a portfolio of significant scale and complexity, generating substantial recurring revenue across multiple client categories - leading complex, often multi-entity negotiations, shaping account strategy, and driving revenue expansion.
Beyond your own portfolio, you'll act as a senior voice on client insight, a role model for commercial excellence within the Account Management team, and a key contributor to the direction of our product and service roadmap. You'll often be the first point of escalation for the most sensitive or highest-risk client situations across the wider team.

Responsibilities
- Own the P&L performance of a large, high complexity client portfolio, driving revenue growth through strategic upsell, cross sell, contract expansion and renewal
- Lead high stakes commercial negotiations and contract reviews with senior and C-suite stakeholders, securing favourable terms that protect margin and reflect the depth and value of the partnership
- Maintain a structured commercial pipeline across your portfolio, prioritising opportunities by revenue impact and strategic value, and reporting on portfolio health to senior leadership
- Develop and present compelling, board ready commercial proposals that articulate measurable ROI for clients, linking our capabilities directly to their growth ambitions
- Build and execute long term account strategies for each key client, identifying the next stage of partnership
- Conduct regular strategic business reviews at senior and executive level, going beyond service delivery to discuss market trends, commercial performance and mutual growth opportunities

- Use data analysis and WMS insights to benchmark client performance, surface improvement opportunities and present actionable growth plans
- Take ownership of the most sensitive, high risk or high value escalations - including those referred to you from elsewhere in the Account Management team
- Work closely with the Sales team to convert referrals and network introductions from within your existing client base
- Act as the senior client voice internally, translating portfolio insight into structured feedback that informs our product and service roadmap, working across Operations, Onboarding, Sales and Tech
- Mentor and coach Account Managers across the team, sharing commercial best practice, negotiation technique and account planning discipline
- Act as a deputy or senior point of contact for the Commercial Director on portfolio matters as required

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
