PROPOSED SALARY RANGE: £45,000-£58,000 depending on relevant skills, knowledge and experience. The expected salary range for this role reflects internal benchmarking and external market insights.

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
The Senior Strategic Partnerships Manager will develop and secure high-value partnerships with philanthropic, business and family foundations to support BBC Media Action’s global mission. Working across international teams, the role will identify new funding opportunities, build and steward strategic relationships, and develop compelling, creative proposals that deliver ambitious income growth. Collaborating with research, editorial, programme and technical colleagues, the role will create impactful partnerships that strengthen inclusive, resilient societies through media and communication worldwide.

Your Key Responsibilities And Impact
- Develop and implement strategic partnerships with philanthropic and business foundations aligned to BBC Media Action’s priorities, including democracy, inclusion and climate.
- Build and manage a high-value partnership pipeline, securing new business while stewarding existing relationships to maintain and grow multi-million-pound income.
- Develop compelling, creative and commercially viable funding proposals, collaborating with regional, country, editorial, research and technical teams across the organisation.
- Build and maintain senior-level stakeholder relationships, proactively identifying new partnership opportunities and raising BBC Media Action’s profile with external partners.
- Manage partnership performance and governance, monitoring impact, resolving issues, delivering effective stewardship and completing appropriate due diligence, ethical checks and donor audits.

Essential Criteria
YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- Proven experience developing and managing high-value partnerships with philanthropic, business and family foundations, including securing new opportunities and stewarding existing relationships.
- Strong fundraising track record, including developing compelling six-figure-plus proposals and delivering against ambitious income targets.
- Relevant international development knowledge, ideally across democracy and governance, gender equality, climate and environment, with an understanding of media, technology and communications for development.
- Excellent influencing, negotiation and communication skills, with the ability to build senior-level relationships, represent BBC Media Action externally and develop strong professional networks.
- Highly collaborative and organised, with experience coordinating colleagues across teams and locations, managing competing priorities and delivering effectively to tight deadlines.
