Role Overview
The Senior Strategic Sourcing Specialist is responsible for Strategic Sourcing activities related to Pall’s direct and indirect requirements for the Pall Aerospace Business spanning $100M of Direct and Indirect PVO (Purchasing Volume / Spend). These activities will include, but are not limited to significant interaction with Sales, Engineering and Operational functions to provide Global Sourcing, Outsourcing, Insourcing and overall Subcontract Management in line with corporate strategy. The role will require interaction with other Strategic Sourcing/Category Managers, both regionally and globally.
This professional position will be responsible to assist in the creation and implement such strategies while supporting overall strategy of Pall’s Global Strategic Sourcing organization. This individual will be held accountable for various Strategic Sourcing KPI’s including but not limited to, Purchase Price Change, Purchase Price Variance, Cost Reduction/Margin Enhancement, DPO/Supplier Payables, Global Value Sourcing/LCC Sourcing, e-Auctions and Supplier Performance.

This individual will manage several supplier relationships, formulate and negotiate critical supply contracts, including assembling and analyzing market data, evaluating supply alternatives and crafting negotiating strategies. Additionally, this individual will participate in continuously developing suppliers to meet Palls “Preferred/Qualified Suppliers/Grow” status (Forward Procurement List), participate in design reviews with engineering and suppliers on manufacturability & raw material selection in order to achieve most optimal component / service cost. This position will support, monitor, evaluate, and mentor the local tactical purchasing team members while ensuring policies and procedures regarding compliance, commitments, early involvement, supplier selection, supplier evaluation, and supplier development related to the category are understood, and implemented.
This position reports to the Supplier Relationship Manager and is part of the Supply Chain and Logistics department located in Redruth, Cornwall or Portsmouth, Hampshire and will be an on-site role. This is primarily a Monday to Friday role. Due to the global nature of the position and travel requirements, occasional weekend travel and flexibility around meeting times may be required to accommodate different time zones, with flexibility in working hours provided accordingly.
In This Role, You Will Have The Opportunity To
- Continuously evaluate existing supply base to determine opportunities for improvement.
- Design, lead, negotiate, and implement multiyear Pall contracts (as applicable) including RFQs, RFIs, LTAs, Pricing Level Agreements, Stocking Agreements. Etc.
- Assist in vendor transitions (Outsourcing, Insourcing, Vendor to Vendor)
- Maximize “year over year” working capital improvements.
- Interface with procurement team to establish “local” manufacturing site inputs / requirements are aligned with center led strategy.

The Essential Requirements Of The Job Include
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or related
- Extensive Supply Chain/Procurement/Strategic Sourcing /Category Management experience
- Proven negotiation skills, with demonstrated performance results
- Domestic and/or Global sourcing experience for a large USA or multinational manufacturing company.
- Highly analytical with experience in tools for RFI, RFQ, Reverse Auction
Travel, Motor Vehicle Record & Physical/Environment Requirements
- Ability to travel - 25-30% national and international travel
- Must have a valid state-issued driver’s license and the ability to safely operate a motor vehicle in support of job responsibilities.
- Must be capable of performing job duties in office, distribution, and customer-site settings, including occasional lifting, climbing stairs, and extended periods of mobility.
It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:
- Knowledge of aerospace and defense programs, customers and products.
- Knowledge of UK Government contracting processes.
- Experience with New Product Introduction processes and supporting internal stakeholders (specifically the coordination of RFQ’s; putting together, submitting, tracking, BOM review and analysis).
- Ability to develop relationships with suppliers
- Possess very strong negotiating skills
