Senior Strategist | Independent Brand & Design Agency | London

4 days a week onsite
Central London
£65-85K DOE

We're looking for a Senior Strategist to make our clients' strategic offer more visible, more valuable, and easier to buy. This is a senior role for someone who can sharpen their thinking, strengthen their creative work, and make their client conversations more decisive.

As a Senior Strategist, you'll take day-to-day ownership of the agency's strategic offer, turning their strategy framework into a practical decision-making tool across live projects, pitches, workshops, thought leadership, and internal ways of working. This isn't a role for someone who hides behind strategy language. We need to find someone who makes things clearer — who can find the real problem behind the brief, turn complexity into useful direction, and help clients and creative teams decide.

About You

You're a Senior Strategist with a very strong background in a brand, design, or creative agency. You have a culture-first approach, interested in the impact strategy has on a brand's business, why brands matter, how they grow, and how they make people feel.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

You're not just a researcher — you're a thinker, writer, facilitator, and creative partner. You can find insight in messy information, turn it into a clear point of view, and make that thinking useful for clients, designers, and the wider agency. You don't only answer the brief; you spot the opportunity it's missed.

You will be someone comfortable leading a senior client workshop, shaping a brief with a designer, or contributing to a pitch.

What You'll Do

  • Lead strategy across brand creation, redesign, packaging, activation, portfolio, and innovation projects
  • Run discovery, audits, stakeholder interviews, workshops, and synthesis
  • Define positioning, purpose, proposition, naming, messaging, brand architecture, and creative strategy
  • Write sharp, useful creative briefs that help creative teams do their best work
  • Present strategic recommendations to senior clients and help them make decisions
  • Contribute to pitches, proposals, and new business conversations

What You'll Bring

  • Strategic clarity — turning complex challenges into simple, useful direction
  • Creative translation — briefs that help designers make stronger work, faster
  • Commercial judgement — spotting growth opportunities and showing clients what the work is worth
  • Workshop leadership — designing sessions that create momentum and decisions, not just conversation
  • Confident, clear presenting — able to defend recommendations without becoming defensive
  • Independent thinking — you use AI to widen your inputs and pressure-test ideas, but you own the judgement call

This role is a great opportunity to work directly with the Creative Director and Senior team. You'll be part of an independent agency with strong long-standing client relationships and an opportunity to make a real impact.
