Job Description:

frank. Senior Strategist

The role in brief.

frank is built on a simple idea: the work is better when the people behind it are close to it, honest.

Senior Strategists are the strategic engine on their brands. They lead projects end-to-end, translating business challenges into clear strategic direction and inspiring briefs that unlock the complexity of a business challenge and turns it into clarity - clarity that inspires creatives, builds client confidence, and drives brands forward. You don't just advise. You own the strategy end-to-end on your projects. You diagnose what's really happening with a brand, you draw out hidden insights, and you translate all of that into briefs so clear and compelling that great creative work becomes inevitable.

You're tuned in to culture - the shifts, the signals, the emerging opportunities that others haven't spotted yet. You partner with creatives as an equal, pushing their thinking and defending their ideas. You share your POV with clients with conviction and authority.

This is where you learn what strategic clarity really means, and how it moves brands. Own that, and everything else follows.

Your focus.

You own the strategic thinking across Unilever global brands or FMCG (Homecare), bringing together deep understanding of the business, the consumers, the competitive landscape and the cultural shifts shaping growth. You know your clients and markets inside out, identifying challenges and opportunities that others miss and translating them into strategic direction that feels inevitable, not obvious.

You're trusted to connect brand ambitions with real consumer insight, helping shape work that is both creatively powerful and commercially effective. You bring clarity to complexity, influence stakeholders with confidence and help teams make better decisions through your strategic thinking.

You're also learning at a higher level. Learning how trends evolve across categories and markets, how to strengthen your own strategic voice and how to champion great work so it gets made.

The frank way.

  • Be curious. Stay plugged into culture, trends, and emerging platforms. Look for new opportunities where the brand can authentically play. Your curiosity is what unlocks new angles.
  • Create clarity. Simplify complexity. Every insight, every brief, every piece of strategic thinking should cut through the noise. Clarity is what unlocks great work.
  • Own your POV. You're not here to present options. You're here to have an opinion, to stand behind thinking, and to lead with confidence. Be the strategic voice in the room.
  • Collaborate fiercely. Strategy doesn't happen in isolation. You're a creative partner to the teams you work with, not a gatekeeper. Push their thinking, hear theirs, and fight for ideas you believe in.
  • Stay true. If something isn't right, say so. Strategic integrity matters.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

  • Develop sharp insights and persuasive narratives from research, data and cultural signals, turning complexity into thinking that is actionable, inspiring and easy to rally around.

  • Bring a culture-first mindset to communications planning, helping shape ideas that work across channels and connect with people in relevant, meaningful ways.
  • Stay curious about new ways of working, using modern research approaches, AI tools and emerging methodologies to strengthen strategic thinking and uncover richer insight.

  • Work as a true partner to creative teams, helping shape ideas through development and providing strategic guidance that makes the work stronger.
  • Understand what great creative work looks like and confidently articulate what's working, what's not and where the opportunity lies.
  • Be a strong strategic voice in the creative process, championing ambitious thinking and fighting for ideas that have the potential to make a bigger impact.

Client Leadership

  • Build trusted relationships with clients, becoming a valued strategic partner who brings clarity, perspective and confidence to conversations.
  • Translate client challenges into focused strategic direction, helping teams navigate ambiguity and align around the right opportunity.
  • Present and defend thinking with confidence, influencing stakeholders and leading projects with authority from brief through to delivery.

Additional Strengths

  • Experience developing social-first or creator-led campaigns that are designed for how people engage with content today.
  • Experience shaping culturally relevant ideas, partnerships or activations that help brands earn a place in culture.
  • Experience developing effectiveness stories, measurement frameworks or award case studies that clearly demonstrate impact.
  • Fluency with AI and modern research tools, knowing when they add value and how to use them to strengthen strategic output.
