With a strong presence in fashion capitals such as Milan, London, Paris, and New York, the agency has built a reputation for representing some of the most prestigious names in fashion, beauty, and lifestyle.

In 2017, Karla Otto merged with K2 to form THE INDEPENDENTS, a global marketing, design, and communications group. This collective brings together industry leaders who share a commitment to innovation, excellence, and thoughtful collaboration across the luxury and lifestyle sectors.

At Karla Otto, our team of expert strategists, designers, planners, and publicists are dedicated to delivering exceptional results and establishing long-term partnerships with our clients. We are passionate about the world of fashion, beauty, and luxury, with everyone bringing their unique expertise and insights to the table. We are driven by a shared commitment to excellence and a deep understanding of the ever-evolving industry landscape.

The Role

The Senior Strategist is a senior member of Karla Otto’s Creative Strategy division, working across UK client teams, selected global clients, and new business. The role combines creative strategy, cultural insight, and concept development across fashion, beauty, lifestyle, hospitality, and FMCG.

Working closely with the Creative Strategy leadership team, the Senior Strategist translates strategic direction into clear, compelling ideas and platforms across campaigns, content, experiences, and programming. They will lead client briefs and presentations, develop creative-led work, and contribute to new business and the continued growth of the Creative Strategy offer.

Cultural fluency is central to the role. The Senior Strategist brings a strong understanding of the creative and cultural landscape, alongside the network and judgement to identify relevant talent, creators, partners, and collaborators, and translate emerging cultural shifts into original, future-facing ideas.

This is a senior, client-facing role for an ideas-led creative with strong conceptual judgment, cultural intelligence, and an active industry network. The role also offers opportunities to develop commercial and team leadership skills, with scope to progress to Director based on demonstrated readiness.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
