Senior Strategy & Operations Manager – Logistics

Location: London, United Kingdom
Work setting: Hybrid role within a global food delivery and logistics technology platform (last-mile delivery, gig-economy logistics, and marketplace operations)

A leading global online food delivery platform is seeking a Senior Strategy & Operations Manager – Logistics to drive delivery network performance, optimisation, and strategic execution across the UK and Ireland.

Role purpose

Own and evolve delivery strategy across a large-scale logistics network, balancing cost efficiency, operational performance, and courier experience while enabling business growth through data-driven decision-making and cross-functional execution.

Key responsibilities

Delivery strategy & optimisation

  • Lead large-scale delivery optimisation initiatives across UK & Ireland
  • Balance cost, service performance, and courier supply at scale
  • Define and evolve end-to-end delivery network strategy
  • Drive pooling and network flow optimisation initiatives

Commercial & financial ownership

  • Develop ROI frameworks for delivery investments and initiatives
  • Influence investment decisions using data-driven analysis
  • Optimise cost efficiency across the delivery network

Cross-functional leadership

  • Partner with Product and Tech teams to embed optimisation into tools and systems
  • Align global and regional stakeholders on delivery initiatives
  • Act as senior operational voice in strategic decision-making forums

Analytics & insights

  • Analyse large datasets to identify optimisation opportunities
  • Translate complex analysis into clear business recommendations
  • Present insights and strategic proposals to senior leadership

Team leadership

  • Lead and develop delivery optimisation and cost management teams
  • Set clear accountability structures and performance goals
  • Build capability within operational strategy functions

Requirements

  • Experience in operations strategy, logistics, or network optimisation
  • Strong track record delivering measurable commercial and operational impact
  • Advanced analytical skills with ability to work with large datasets
  • Experience building or applying ROI / investment decision frameworks
  • Strong stakeholder management across complex, cross-functional environments
  • Ability to influence senior leadership with clear, data-driven communication
  • Proactive, structured problem-solving mindset
