Stress Engineer - Aircraft Fuel Systems

Belcan is seeking a talented Stress Engineer to support a defence aircraft Fuel Systems Programme, delivering critical structural and stress analysis activities that directly contribute to aircraft safety, airworthiness and operational capability, based from our Bristol office on a Hybrid work pattern.

Working within a multidisciplinary engineering environment, the Stress Engineer will assess and substantiate fuel system components, pipework, brackets and associated assemblies, supporting both ongoing development and in-service fleet requirements. This is an excellent opportunity to work on a prestigious defence programme where your technical expertise will have a real-world impact.

What you'll be doing:

  • Performing structural and stress assessments on Aircraft fuel system installations and components
  • Developing analytical and finite element models using industry-standard tools
  • Producing substantiation reports and certification evidence
  • Assessing design modifications, non-conformances and repair solutions
  • Supporting airworthiness, certification and investigation activities
  • Collaborating with design, manufacturing, systems and certification teams

What we're looking for:

  • Degree in Aerospace, Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline
  • Experience in structural or stress analysis within aerospace or another highly regulated environment
  • Knowledge of static strength, fatigue, durability and damage tolerance principles
  • Strong hand calculation and engineering judgement skills
  • Experience producing technical reports and presenting engineering recommendations

Desirable Experience:

  • Military aerospace programmes
  • Fuel systems design and certification
  • Airworthiness and certification environments
  • HyperWorks and CAE Pipe experience

Successful applicants must meet eligibility requirements to obtain UK Security Clearance
