Your Role

- Coordinate with authorities and approval agencies to ensure structural compliance and timely approvals.
- Oversee BIM coordination and multidisciplinary design integration across all project disciplines.
- Review structural shop drawings, material submittals, temporary works proposals, and contractor design submissions.
- Support construction teams by providing technical guidance and resolving structural design-related issues during project execution.
- Conduct constructability reviews and assess alternative construction methodologies to optimize project delivery.
- Ensure structural resilience, durability, sustainability, and long-term asset performance are incorporated into design solutions.
- Monitor construction progress and verify alignment with approved structural designs and specifications.
- Conduct site visits, inspections, and technical reviews to ensure quality standards and engineering compliance are maintained.
- Establish and enforce structural engineering quality standards, best practices, and governance procedures across all project phases.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
