The Vacancy

We are looking for a Senior Structural Engineer to join our team at LDE (Formally Acies), an RSK Group company. This is a full-time and permanent position that would suit someone who is wanting to work with a team of industry experts.

LDE (Formally Acies) are a building services engineering consultancy based in Edinburgh. LDE’s Scotland Structures team is formed of RSK LDE and Acies following their merger in April 2026. Our structures team undertake projects across all building structures sectors including commercial buildings, healthcare, education, industrial, life sciences, and residential. Our projects include new build, refurbs, and renovations of existing and historic buildings.

We are seeking a Senior Structural Engineer to independently manage projects, deliver high-quality structural designs, and maintain strong relationships with clients and stakeholders. The ideal candidate will have excellent technical knowledge, commercial awareness, and a passion for supporting the growth and development of junior engineers.

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the lead contact for projects; managing client, design team, and site interactions.
  • Carry out site inspections and surveys to support design development and quality assurance.
  • Liaise with stakeholders to ensure project delivery aligns with regulatory and commercial objectives.
  • By having a clear understanding of project finances, be able to budget and produce fee proposals and bids for work up to £75,000.
  • Produce and review design using a range of structural engineering software packages.
  • Prepare reports and calculation packages for key project stages and statutory submissions.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • MEng/MSc/BEng/BSc Hons in Civil or Civil and Structural Engineering
  • Chartered Engineer (CEng) status with membership of IStructE, ICE, or another relevant engineering institution.
  • Demonstratable experience in design software tools (e.g., TEDDS, S-Frame, Tekla Structural Designer, Tekla Fastrack Suite, REVIT, Robot, Infodrainage/Causeway Flow, AutoCAD LT).
  • Strong project management skills with a track record of successful project delivery
