The Vacancy

We are looking for a Senior Structural Engineer to join our team at RoC Consulting (Part of RSK LDE), an RSK Group company. This is a full time and permanent position that would suit someone who is wanting to work with a team of industry experts.

RoC Consulting (Part of RSK LDE) are a building services engineering consultancy based in the central Manchester area. RoC is an award-winning practice working across a wide range of project sectors and building types. From high rise city centre residential schemes to the refurbishment of heritage buildings our dynamic and dedicated team are well known and well respected in the Northwest and beyond.

We are seeking a Senior Structural Engineer to be able to produce design calculations for building structures in all common materials without supervision and they will be able to produce concept designs for simple building structures. They will also be expected to manage small projects from inception to completion, communicating with the wider design team and supervise work undertaken by junior engineers and technicians.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage projects from inception to completion, delivering work in line with agreed programmes and deadlines.
  • Understand project scope and commercial requirements, identifying and reporting any variations or additional works.
  • Collaborate effectively with design team members and colleagues to achieve project and business objectives.
  • Ensure the quality, accuracy, and timely delivery of production information for assigned projects.
  • Review and check the work of themselves and any engineers or technicians under their supervision.
  • Act professionally at all times and maintain compliance with health and safety requirements, including CDM design risk assessments.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Relevant degree or HNC qualification.
  • Achieved, or working towards, chartership with the Institution of Structural Engineers (or a similar organisation)
  • Full UK Driving License
  • Demonstrable experience working as a Senior Structural Engineer in a consultancy setting
