About The Role

We're looking for a Senior Highway Structures Engineer to join our expanding engineering team. You'll play a key role in delivering innovative solutions on highway structures projects across the UK, working alongside industry experts in a collaborative, supportive environment that encourages professional growth and career progression.
Whether you're already Chartered / Incorporated (CEng / IEng) or approaching chartership, we'll provide the support, opportunities, and autonomy you need to take your career to the next level.
What You'll Be Doing
- Delivering concept, preliminary, and detailed highway structure designs.
- Producing and checking engineering calculations, technical reports, and drawings.
- Carrying out complex structural analysis and reviewing the work of junior engineers.
- Providing technical leadership, mentoring, and guidance to developing team members.
- Managing project budgets, programmes, and delivering work to agreed targets.
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients and key stakeholders.
- Attending client meetings and representing Project Centre professionally.
- Planning and undertaking site inspections and structural investigations.
- Supporting the implementation of CDM responsibilities and promoting best practice.
- Using bridge management systems and structural databases.

What We're Looking For
- Master's or Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
- Chartered or Incorporated Engineer (CEng or IEng), or actively working towards chartership.
- Around 5+ years' experience in highway structures or bridge engineering.
- Strong technical knowledge of steel and reinforced concrete bridge design and assessment.
- Proven experience delivering highway bridge and civil structures projects.
- Good working knowledge of DMRB and MCHW standards.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Experience reviewing and checking technical work.
- Commercial awareness, including experience with NEC contracts, budgets, and programmes.
- Understanding of CDM Regulations and health & safety responsibilities.
