About The Role

Are you an experienced Structural or Civil Engineer looking for your next challenge? Do you want to work on high-profile highway structures projects while helping to grow a talented team and develop the next generation of engineers?

We're looking for a Senior Highway Structures Engineer to join our expanding engineering team. You'll play a key role in delivering innovative solutions on highway structures projects across the UK, working alongside industry experts in a collaborative, supportive environment that encourages professional growth and career progression.

Whether you're already Chartered / Incorporated (CEng / IEng) or approaching chartership, we'll provide the support, opportunities, and autonomy you need to take your career to the next level.


What You'll Be Doing

  • Delivering concept, preliminary, and detailed highway structure designs.
  • Producing and checking engineering calculations, technical reports, and drawings.
  • Carrying out complex structural analysis and reviewing the work of junior engineers.
  • Providing technical leadership, mentoring, and guidance to developing team members.
  • Managing project budgets, programmes, and delivering work to agreed targets.
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients and key stakeholders.
  • Attending client meetings and representing Project Centre professionally.
  • Planning and undertaking site inspections and structural investigations.
  • Supporting the implementation of CDM responsibilities and promoting best practice.
  • Using bridge management systems and structural databases.

What We're Looking For

  • Master's or Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
  • Chartered or Incorporated Engineer (CEng or IEng), or actively working towards chartership.
  • Around 5+ years' experience in highway structures or bridge engineering.
  • Strong technical knowledge of steel and reinforced concrete bridge design and assessment.
  • Proven experience delivering highway bridge and civil structures projects.
  • Good working knowledge of DMRB and MCHW standards.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience reviewing and checking technical work.
  • Commercial awareness, including experience with NEC contracts, budgets, and programmes.
  • Understanding of CDM Regulations and health & safety responsibilities.
