Structural Engineer: Cardiff

Location: Cardiff, South Wales

Salary: Up to GBP50,000, depending on experience

Working: Flexible hybrid approach

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Structural Engineer with 3-4 years experience, or more, to join a well-established and forward-thinking structural design consultancy based in Cardiff.

The consultancy has an exciting and varied pipeline of project work, providing the opportunity to work across a broad range of sectors, building types and structural schemes. With a strong workload ahead, this is a great time to join a growing team where you can continue developing your technical skills while gaining exposure to a diverse range of projects.

The Role

As a Structural Engineer, you will be involved in the design and delivery of a variety of structural engineering projects, working closely with architects, contractors, clients, and other consultants.

Your Responsibilities Will Include

  • Undertaking structural analysis and design across a range of projects
  • Producing structural calculations, reports, and technical documentation
  • Designing structures in a variety of materials
  • Developing structural schemes from concept through to detailed design
  • Producing and reviewing technical drawings
  • Liaising with architects, contractors, and other members of the design team
  • Attending site visits and providing technical support where required
  • Managing your own workload and contributing to successful project delivery

About You

The ideal Structural Engineer will have around 3-4 years relevant consultancy experience, although candidates with more experience are also encouraged.

You Should Have

  • A degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
  • Relevant experience within a structural design consultancy
  • A strong understanding of structural engineering principles
  • Experience working across a range of building projects
  • Good structural analysis and design skills
  • Strong technical calculation and problem-solving abilities
  • Excellent communication and attention to detail
  • The ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a wider team
