Company: White & Lloyd Consulting Engineers Ltd

Location: Hybrid working / Thames Ditton, Surrey

About Us

White & Lloyd is a growing multidisciplinary consultancy, known for delivering high-quality, client-focused surveying and engineering services. Our growth is underpinned by our people. We invest in their development, support their ambitions, and maintain a professional and collaborative culture. As we continue to grow, we are now looking for an experienced Senior Structural Engineer to join our Structural Engineering team and play a key role in both its development and the continued growth of the business. We specialise in high-end residential projects, from new build housing developments to refurbishment projects, as well as working with housing associations on affordable housing schemes. Our approach creates a challenging and rewarding environment where talented engineers can develop and excel.

The Role

We are looking for a confident and ambitious Senior Structural Engineer to work closely with the directors and take a leading role within our Structural Engineering team. Alongside providing technical leadership across a varied portfolio of projects, you'll lead and mentor a team of design engineers and CAD technicians, supporting their development and helping to maintain high standards across the team. This is an opportunity to take on more than just a technical role. As a senior member of the business, you'll have the opportunity to contribute to the continued growth of White & Lloyd, getting involved in business strategy, business development and wider company decisions. You'll have a voice in helping shape the direction of the business, with involvement in areas such as recruitment and team development, as well as the opportunity to share ideas and contribute to our agreed growth strategy and targets. The successful candidate will also be responsible for preparing structural designs and supporting calculations for new build and renovation projects, attending design team meetings and carrying out structural inspections, reporting on defects and recommending appropriate remedial works.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
