Senior Structural Engineer – Chartered / Near Chartered
I’m currently working with one of the South East’s most established structural and civil engineering consultancies, who are looking to add an experienced Senior Structural Engineer to their growing team.
With an excellent reputation across the region and established offices overseas, this is a great opportunity for a Chartered or near Chartered Structural Engineer looking to take the next step in their career within a supportive and technically strong consultancy.
The successful candidate will be involved in the delivery of a wide range of structural engineering projects, taking responsibility for design, analysis, detailing and specification across a variety of materials. A strong working knowledge of the Eurocodes and good attention to detail are essential, alongside the ability to review and check designs and drawings. Experience carrying out structural inspections and preparing technical reports would also be beneficial, as would strong written and verbal communication skills.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

This role would suit an ambitious Senior Engineer who is either already Chartered or approaching Chartership and is keen to continue developing technically while taking on increasing responsibility.
There are excellent long-term progression opportunities within the business, with the potential to progress through the senior structure and, for the right individual, ultimately towards Associate Director and Partner level.
In return, the company offers a competitive package, a friendly and supportive working environment, strong technical guidance and the opportunity to join a highly established consultancy with an international presence.
