We are currently looking for a talented and motivated Senior Structural Engineer / Sustainability Consultant to join our Structures Team. The role is based in London, but it is a hybrid role, so you can work from home up to two days per week if you wish.
What does the role involve?
First and foremost, you’ll be a Senior Structural Engineer with digital parametric capability. We are also looking for someone with a strong sustainability focus who can collaborate with our established sustainability team.
Key Responsibilities Will Include
Project delivery
- Managing project portals and common data environments
- Preparing complex reports, presentation materials and technical drawings
- Leading the production of construction details, specifications and technical submission packages
- Contributing to tender proposals
Design
- Leading design development, project coordination and the implementation of engineering solutions
Calculations
- Conducting detailed and complex structural calculations using relevant software and/or by hand, in accordance with relevant codes and standards
Coordination and collaboration
- Communicating effectively with the project team
- Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and liaising with clients, contractors and regulatory bodies to ensure project success
- Participating in and leading client meetings and presentations to convey design concepts and findings
- Supporting business development activities
Sustainability
- Overseeing sustainability across our projects
- Attending sustainability industry events
- Helping to develop digital tools
What do you need to be successful in this role?
- Advanced proficiency in software such as ETABS, SAFE, Tekla, Robot, Revit and IDEA StatiCa
- Excellent interpersonal, negotiation and communication skills, enabling you to interact effectively with clients, architects and the wider project team
- Strong mathematical, analytical and problem-solving abilities
- A thorough understanding of project delivery requirements across all design stages, including the construction process
- Extensive experience in concrete, steel and timber design
- A Bachelor’s degree in civil or structural engineering, or a related field; a Master’s degree would be an advantage
- Chartered Engineer status, or working towards chartership
- A strong interest in structural sustainability
