Waterman Group is a leading engineering and environmental consultancy, delivering innovative and sustainable solutions across the built environment. Our Glasgow office is growing, and we are looking for a skilled Revit Technician to join our Structures team.
The Role
As a Senior Structural Technician, you will be responsible for producing high-quality structural drawings and models to support the design and delivery of projects across a variety of sectors, including commercial, residential, education healthcare, defence and mixed-use developments. You will work closely with engineers and other technicians to ensure accurate and efficient delivery of design information.
Objectives of this Role
- Undertake accurate REVIT modelling of a wide variety of existing and new buildings across a broad range of sectors.
- Developing efficient workflows between the BIM and analytical software used with the engineers.
- Prepare modelling documentation and drawings associated with RIBA stage reports, planning applications, and necessary approvals.
- Provide specialist support to in-house structural and civil engineering colleagues.

Routine Responsibilities
- Undertake high level modelling studies to develop structural engineering options with the engineering team and provide early advice with regards co-ordination with other disciplines.
- Prepare suitable renders to aid with conveying concepts and RIBA Stage reports.
- Create a reliable and co-ordinated BIM model in accordance with the company BIM policy.
- Provide ongoing advice to structural and civil engineering colleagues/clients/wider design team, in relation to the developing designs and details.
- Produce material quantities and volumes to RIBA Stage reports and Costing Notes
- Support and develop new methods of working and modelling with regards parametric modelling, in house BIM standards, and digital standards.
- Actively engage in our in-house development forums, for subjects such as environmental sustainability and BIM strategies.
- Reinforced concrete detailing and scheduling.
- Manage relevant project documentation including, but not limited to, document control systems, model compliance, internal reviews.

Skills & Qualifications
- HNC or HND in Civil Engineering or similar
- Relevant prior professional experience as a REVIT technician within a building structures environment
- Proven experience with complex building modelling
- Strong analytical skills and compliance with quality systems and BIM standards.
- Strong communication skills
- Working knowledge of current compliance legislation
