Senior Structural Technician

Location

  • Liverpool (Speke) or Norwich (Wymondham)

Hours

  • 40 hours per week - some flexibility on hours available if desired, just let us know when you speak to us.

Sponsorship

About the Role

We're looking for an experienced Senior Structural Technician to join our award-winning Building Structures Team. This is a fantastic opportunity to work on the production and checking of structural engineering drawings, 3-dimensional building models, reinforcement schedules, and specifications for buildings and associated structural engineering works. You'll be working in a supportive environment where your skills and creativity will help us deliver innovative solutions to our clients.

Responsibilities

As a Senior Structural Technician, you'll be working within the Building Structures Team, supporting them in delivering high-quality structural engineering solutions. Your day-to-day will include:

  • Producing and checking coordinated building structures drawings, design models, schedules, and specifications within a quality assurance environment
  • Checking and coordinating structural design information with other technical disciplines
  • Visiting sites occasionally to carry out surveys and inspections
  • Attending meetings at other Kier, consultant, and client offices when required
  • Promoting wellbeing within your team and ensuring an inclusive workplace where diversity is actively encouraged

Requirements

This role of Senior Structural Technician is great for you if:

  • You hold a Bachelor's level degree in a construction-related discipline, or HNC or BTEC or equivalent qualification in Structural or Civil Engineering, Building, or Construction
  • You have extensive experience operating REVIT, Navisworks, and AutoCAD software, producing building structures models and drawings compliant with current CDM Regulations and British and European Standards
  • You have experience of reinforced concrete detailing and scheduling to European/British Standards
  • You have experience carrying out site or building inspections of work before or under construction
  • You're committed to Continuing Professional Development and working collaboratively to reach innovative solutions
