Role Description

As a Senior Structures Engineer, you will apply your expertise in structural sizing, analysis and finite element methods to support the development and assurance of structural designs. Working as part of a multidisciplinary engineering team, you will define and deliver complex engineering analysis activities, ensuring structures meet relevant certification, airworthiness and project requirements through a combination of finite element analysis, hand calculations and specialist engineering tools.

You will provide technical leadership within the structures discipline, mentoring and developing less experienced engineers while fostering effective collaboration with customers, suppliers and internal stakeholders. The role also includes conducting fatigue and damage tolerance assessments, resolving technical challenges, and ensuring high quality engineering outputs are delivered across the project lifecycle.

Core Duties

  • Lead and deliver structural engineering analysis activities, defining work packages and coordinating analysis tasks across the team
  • Perform structural sizing, finite element analysis, hand calculations and software-based assessments to demonstrate compliance with certification and project requirements
  • Conduct fatigue and damage tolerance analyses, providing sound engineering judgement and robust technical recommendations
  • Mentor and develop less experienced engineers, sharing knowledge and strengthening capability across the Structures discipline
  • Collaborate effectively with customers, suppliers and multidisciplinary teams to resolve technical issues and maintain efficient ways of working
  • Produce clear technical reports and presentations, tailoring complex engineering information to a range of audiences
  • Apply strong stakeholder management skills to integrate activities across multiple teams and disciplines

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
