Role Summary:

We are seeking an experienced, dynamic, results-orientated Senior Actuary to join our growing Global Life Financial Solutions team for Europe, Middle-East and Latin America regions. The successful candidate will be responsible for the development and implementation of models assessing the underlying risk (including high-level experience analysis) and development of the appropriate structure (with the broader team) to meet client needs. The position will be based in Zurich, Paris, London, or Dublin.

The role provides the opportunity for exposure to a wide variety of products and innovative reinsurance solutions in diverse markets and you will be expected to make a significant contribution to the development of our Global Life Financial Solutions team, and the wider enhancement of PartnerRe’s Life & Health propositions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and price financial solutions transactions and grow PartnerRe’s revenue in the EMELA region.

In more detail, your responsibilities will include:

  • Develop, structure, and market appropriate reinsurance solutions encompassing accounting, regulatory, and economic risk-transfer aspects.
  • Technical development of pricing tools to analyze risk and profitability of life reinsurance solutions.
  • Contribute to the deal execution involving responding to RFPs, negotiating terms with clients and brokers, and preparing internal approval memos.
  • Support the business development efforts prospecting/client visits promoting our solutions and tailoring them to specific client objectives.
  • Prepare and make internal and external presentations on life reinsurance topics as required.

Qualifications:

Technical Skills:

  • You are a technically excellent individual with the ability to demonstrate commercial sense.
  • Strong actuarial background in pricing life and health insurance/reinsurance and familiar with accounting standards (e.g., USGAAP, IFRS17).
  • Good knowledge of Solvency 2 is essential, including awareness of some of the issues faced by insurers.

  • Fluent English speaker. Other European languages are desirable.

Work Experience:

  • At least 8 years of relevant financial services industry experience.
  • Experience in actuarial pricing and structuring bespoke reinsurance agreements will be ideal.

Professional Qualifications:

  • Qualified life actuary
