About The Role

Are you an experienced events and student recruitment professional who enjoys bringing people together, creating engaging experiences and delivering complex events to a consistently high standard?

We are looking for a Senior Student Recruitment & Events Manager to join our UK Student Recruitment, Outreach & Events team within Marketing & Communications. You will play a key role in planning, coordinating and continuously improving Bournemouth University’s portfolio of student recruitment and institutional events, ensuring activity is audience-focused, insight-informed and aligned with our recruitment priorities.

  • Working closely with colleagues across Student Recruitment, Admissions, Campaigns, faculties and professional services, you will help develop and deliver an annual programme of events that supports prospective students throughout their recruitment journey.
  • This will include leading the coordination and delivery of major recruitment events such as Open Days and Offer Holder events, alongside other key institutional activity.
  • You will provide day-to-day management and coordination of the student recruitment and events team, allocating work and supporting colleagues to deliver against priorities and deadlines.
  • You will also build strong relationships with faculties, provide guidance and frameworks for event delivery, manage allocated budgets and suppliers, and use attendance, engagement and feedback data to evaluate performance and identify opportunities for improvement.

We are looking for someone with significant experience of strategically planning and delivering large, complex events, including their logistical and budgetary requirements. You will have experience of people management, excellent organisational and communication skills, and the confidence to build effective relationships with colleagues and stakeholders at all levels. An understanding of the Higher Education sector, strong customer service skills and the ability to remain calm and solutions-focused when working to competing priorities will also be important.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
