Job Title: Construction Subcontract Manager
Location: Talacre, North Wales
Contract: Initially 12 Months (Extendable up until December 2028)
Rate: Negotiable dependent on experience (Outside IR35 LTD)
Requirements: 5.5 days on site per week
As Construction Subcontract Manager, you will be responsible for the development, management, and continuous improvement of subcontract scopes covering Mechanical Works (West & Buildings) and E&I Works throughout the engineering and development phases of the Decommissioning & Carbon Capture & Storage project.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the Subcontract Engineers and Subcontract Administrators team.
- Ensure subcontract administration procedures are implemented and followed by all subcontractors.
- Prepare and issue letters and notices to subcontractors as required, ensuring all subcontractor correspondence is responded to appropriately.
- Monitor subcontractor performance and compliance.
- Review and validate subcontractor progress payment applications.
- Support the project management team in identifying variations and claims impacting project programmes, costs, and forecasts.
- Analyse Site Technical Queries (STQs), Site Instructions (SIs), and Deviation Requests (DRs) to determine cost impacts and negotiate pricing with subcontractors.
- Ensure extra works, new unit rates, claims, back charges, liquidated damages, and subcontract close-out activities are managed in accordance with company procedures.
- Actively participate in change management and forecast analysis.
- Ensure the timely issuance of Completion Certificates.
- Maintain and regularly update subcontract forecast analyses.
- Manage the commercial close-out of subcontract agreements.
- Capture, share, and promote lessons learned, feedback, and construction-related best practices across the project.

Experience
- Minimum 5 years' experience as a Quantity Surveyor.
- Previous experience working on offshore facilities, industrial plants, or complex construction projects within the Oil & Gas, Energy, CCS, or related sectors is essential.
- Candidates with exposure to contract management and subcontract administration activities will also be considered.
Skills & Knowledge
- Strong understanding of subcontract management and commercial administration.
- Experience managing variations, claims, cost control, and forecasting.
- Excellent negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to interpret technical and contractual documentation.
- Strong analytical, commercial, and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficient in managing multiple stakeholders within large-scale EPC/EPCI projects.
