Senior Supervisor (MAR)
Senior Military Airworthiness Supervisor – RNAS Yeovilton
Location: RNAS Yeovilton, Ilchester, Somerset BA22 8HT Contract Type: Full time, permanent Flexible Working: Available Hours: 38 hours per week (Monday–Friday) Salary: Competitive, with annual reviews Benefits: Comprehensive package (see below)
About the Role
Bring your aviation or military expertise to a crucial role within the Commando Helicopter Force. As a Senior Suitable Qualified and Experienced Person (SQEP), you will lead Military Airworthiness Reviews (MARs) to ensure platform safety and compliance under MAA (Military Airworthiness Authority) regulations. Primarily based at RNAS Yeovilton, you may also be required to support other military sites as needed.

Responsibilities
Core Duties
- Lead independent Military Airworthiness Reviews (MARs) and compile formal findings reports
- Identify and escalate airworthiness concerns via:
- Defence Aviation Safety Occurrence Reports (DASORs)
- Quality Occurrence Reports (QORs)
- Narrative Fault Findings (MF760)
- Unsatisfactory Feature Reports (MF765)
- Review and analyse MAR findings to support:
- Continuing Airworthiness Maintenance Organisation (CAMO)
- Technical Data Exploitation (TDE)
- Data-driven safety decisions
Reporting & Meetings
- Prepare and present trend analysis reports for:
- Continued Airworthiness Management Meetings (CAMMs)
- Data Exploitation and Trending Working Group (DETWG)
- Air Safety Boards (ASBs) for each platform

Leadership & Compliance
- Act as SQEP lead, providing mentorship and continuity for junior MAR employees
- Ensure adherence to:
- Contracted tasks via customer policies, MAA regulations, and statutory requirements
- Health and Safety legislation (including COSHH regulations)
- Serco Management System, environmental procedures, and equal opportunities policies
- Responsible for capturing and communicating engineering, safety, and near-miss findings (e.g., DASOR, Assure)
- Monitor hazards and risks, and collaborate in Continuous Improvement (CI) initiatives
Customer Engagement
- Promptly address customer feedback and resolute quality issues
- Escalate unresolved matters as necessary, maintaining high safety and compliance standards
Requirements
Essential Experience & Qualifications
- 5+ years’ experience in military or aviation airworthiness, including senior supervisory roles
- Valid Service Certificate of Competency (CoC) or ability to obtain it
- Demonstrated proven leadership, mentorship, and people management skills
- Ability to work under pressure while maintaining high safety and quality standards
Technical Proficiency
Strong working knowledge of:
- Military aircraft engineering (rotary and fixed-wing systems)
- Aircraft servicing procedures and ground support equipment
- Naval Air Publications and Compound Interactive Electronic Technical Publications (CIETP)
Certifications Required
- Maintenance Human Factors Course completed
- GoldEsp (Senior Supervisor level or above)
- Aircraft Custodian Course (completed or Ability to obtain)
- Baines Simmons Continuous Airworthiness Management Course (completed or Ability to obtain)
