Job Purpose
To support the business in maintaining adequate levels of materials to support sales and manufacturing demand at the best price obtainable, in accordance with MRP/ asset management systems demand& forecast and in accordance with all documented procedures and best practice.
Main Tasks and Responsibilities
- In line with agreed procedures review MRP/ asset management systems demand information and place corresponding Purchase Orders and ensure order confirmations are sent and in line with requested timeliness.
- Ensure any required changes to demand or delivery dates are communicated to the relevant internal and external stakeholders and MRP/ asset management systems updated appropriately.
- Regular review of safety stocks and MRP/ asset management systems parameters in line with changing business needs.
- Take ownership of the procurement activities for our reusable product portfolio and support asset management operations across the full lifecycle (deployment, returns, refurbishment, repair and retirement) to meet business needs.
- Use sound judgement to resolve grey areas and non-standard situations, particularly within the reusable portfolio, making decisions independently with minimal supervision and escalating only where risk or commercial impact warrants it.
- Communicate and present procurement performance for their portfolio, risks and recommendations to management with confidence.
- Ensure supplier invoices are approved, and queries are handled in a timely manner.
- Work with internal stakeholders to help identify any opportunities for improvement within the business processes you are involved with and support any changes that devolve from the improvement opportunities.
- Assist with the benchmarking of commodities or landed costs within your portfolio to obtain best value for the business.

Requirements
Experience and qualifications – Essential
- Demonstrable strong level of IT literacy.
- Have utilised ERP systems and have managed MRP outputs.
- At least 8 years’ experience in procurement or supply chain, with a record of career progression.
- Background in a high-volume manufacturing environment.
- CIPS Level 4 qualification or equivalent work experience.
Experience and qualifications – Desirable
- Experience managing reusable containers/products, including fleet management.
Functional Competencies – Essential
- Strong grasp of written and spoken English.
- Ability to use the Microsoft office suite of products, particularly Outlook, Excel and Powerpoint.
- Confident to discuss issues and clearly express their views.
- Ability to manipulate/analyse large amounts data.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing BOMs/ change management- gained from highly regulated business environments.
- Confident communicating and presenting with management level stakeholders.

Functional Competencies – Desirable
- Experienced in negotiations and negotiation techniques.
- Power BI and SQL will be an advantage.
- Project management skills.

- Able to contribute with ideas or prior experience how supply chain can inform or influence contributions to the direction of the team or projects in which they are engaged.
- A confident negotiator who can act without or with minimal management support.
Other Requirements
- Understands and can apply the legal principles of offer and acceptance and basic contract formation.
- Attendance in the Long Crendon office 3-4 days per week.
