A Snapshot of Your Day

As a Supply Chain Process Improvement Manager within SGT Service, you will lead improvements across the end-to-end supply chain, using SAP, operational data, and Lean methodologies to make planning and delivery processes more efficient, reliable, and transparent. Your work will span customer demand, manufacturing, engineering, purchasing, logistics, warehousing, and master data across multiple service plants.

A key part of your role will be understanding where processes are not performing as they should, identifying the root cause, and turning that insight into practical improvements. You will work with managers and cross-functional teams to improve areas such as order acknowledgement, backlog management, customer repairs, inventory visibility, forecasting, and production flow, supporting on-time delivery above 95% and competitive customer lead times.

As an SAP Advanced Key User, you will also help shape how SAP is used across the operation. You will improve processes and master data, establish clear governance and documentation, develop dashboards, and train colleagues to build capability and maintain system integrity.

How You’ll Make An Impact

  • Analyse end-to-end supply chain performance to identify improvement opportunities across order acknowledgement, on-time delivery, backlog, customer repairs, forecasting, inventory, and production processes.
  • Lead cross-functional improvement initiatives spanning Manufacturing, Engineering, Production, Purchasing, Logistics, Warehouse, Sales, Projects, and Product Lifecycle/Master Data functions across service plants.
  • Act as an SAP Advanced Key User, using strong end-to-end process knowledge to improve SAP utilisation, master data quality, system integration, and ERP governance.
  • Develop and maintain end-to-end SAP process documentation, governance controls, and user guidance, providing training to strengthen capability and ensure process consistency.
  • Use KPIs, digital dashboards, root cause analysis, and lessons learned to monitor performance, improve business transparency, and translate operational issues into sustainable improvements.
  • Apply Lean and continuous improvement methodologies to improve supply chain performance, supporting annual financial targets, on-time delivery above 95%, and reduced lead times for critical customer parts.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
