Are you an experienced Children's Residential Support Worker looking to progress your career? Do you have the resilience, leadership skills, and passion needed to support young people who have experienced trauma and adversity?
We're looking for a Senior Residential Support Worker to join our established children's homes in Bicester, Oxfordshire, providing leadership, guidance, and consistency to both young people and colleagues.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys being hands-on in supporting young people while helping to lead shifts, develop staff, and maintain high standards of care and safeguarding.
About The Role

You'll act as a role model for the wider team, providing guidance, oversight, and support while helping to create a stable, nurturing environment where children can thrive.
This is a rewarding but demanding role, requiring emotional resilience, sound decision-making, and the ability to remain calm under pressure when supporting young people who may present behaviours that challenge.

- Supporting the emotional wellbeing, safety, and development of young people.
- Managing and responding to challenging behaviours appropriately and confidently.
- Ensuring safeguarding remains at the centre of all decision-making.
- Promoting structure, consistency, boundaries, and positive routines.
- Supporting care planning, risk management, and outcome-focused interventions.
- Completing records, reports, and safeguarding documentation to a high standard.
- Building effective relationships with families, schools, social workers, and external professionals.
- Supporting the development and mentoring of less experienced colleagues.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
