Senior Support Worker

We are pleased to announce we have an exciting opportunity here at Potens for a Senior Support Worker.

Westward

Westward is a residential service located in Dawlish, Devon, for 7 individuals with learning disabilities with associated mental health needs and behaviours that can challenge. Our service provides both long and short-term residential care.

What we’ll give you:

  • £13.95 per hour.
  • Full-time, 36 hours per week. Shift times are between the hours of 8 am and 8 pm. Weekend and bank holiday working is required.

What you’ll be doing:

  • You will support a team of staff members and will be complete inductions for new members of the team.
  • You will also support with training and development through mentoring and on-the-job supervisions.
  • You will be contributing to and completing care plans, risk assessments, their review and implementation, to provide effective strategies to assist the people we support to achieve their identified outcomes.
  • You will be part of an on-call system for the service.
  • Promoting and supporting independent living skills.
  • Encouraging choice and involvement.
  • Shift times are between the hours of 8 am and 8 pm. Working alternate weekends. Bank holiday working is also required.

Who you are:

  • You will have a minimum of one year of experience as a Support Worker or you are an existing Senior Support Worker working in the social care sector, preferably supporting adults with learning disabilities, mental health needs and behaviours that can challenge.
  • NVQ level 2 or 3 in Health and Social Care is desirable but not essential.
  • Caring with a patient approach.
  • Reliable and committed.
  • Positive with an enthusiastic attitude.
  • Team player.
  • Drivers preferred but not essential.
