Role Description
The Senior Support Worker role is a full-time, on-site position based in Northampton. In this role, the Senior Support Worker provides high-quality, person-centered support to individuals with complex care needs, promoting independence, dignity, and wellbeing in daily life.

Key responsibilities include:

- Assisting with personal care, daily living activities, and community engagement
- Ensuring that care plans are followed and updated in line with clinical guidance
- Acting as a role model and mentor for other support workers, supporting induction, training, and day-to-day supervision to maintain safe and consistent practice
- Overseeing safeguarding concerns
- Liaising with families and multidisciplinary teams
- Maintaining accurate records
- Contributing to continuous improvement in service delivery
Qualifications
- Experience as a Support Worker or Senior Support Worker, preferably within complex care, rehabilitation, or disability services.
- Strong Interpersonal Skills and Communication abilities to build trust, collaborate with teams, and work effectively with individuals, families, and external professionals.
- Knowledge of Safeguarding principles and legislation, with the ability to identify, report, and respond appropriately to safety and protection concerns.
- Capability in Technical Support related to care delivery, such as using assistive technology, care-related equipment, and electronic care record systems.
- Relevant health and social care qualification (e.g., NVQ/QCF Level 3 or equivalent), or a commitment to work towards it.
- Understanding of person-centered care, risk management, and positive behavior support approaches.
- Ability to work flexibly, including evenings, weekends, and bank holidays as required for a 24/7 care environment.
- Basic IT skills for documentation, communication, and training purposes, and willingness to engage in ongoing professional development.
