Senior Support Worker - £13.92 per hour
Salary: £13.92 per hour
Hours: 36 hours per week
Shift Times: 07:45-20:15 (includes alternative weekends)

We're looking for an experienced, compassionate and motivated Senior Support Worker to join our dedicated team at Orchard House where we provide high-quality residential care for older people living with dementia.

About The Role
As a Senior Support Worker, you'll support the Team Leader with the day-to-day running of the home, ensuring every resident receives compassionate, personalised care that promotes dignity, independence and choice.
A key responsibility of this role is the safe administration and management of medication, ensuring best practice and compliance with all policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities
- Deliver outstanding person-centred care tailored to each resident's individual needs, preferences and life history.
- Promote best practice in dementia care, ensuring residents are treated with dignity, compassion and respect at all times.
- Administer and manage medication safely and accurately in line with regulatory requirements.
- Observe, monitor and respond to changes in residents' physical, emotional and cognitive wellbeing.
- Develop positive relationships with residents, relatives, healthcare professionals and external agencies.
- Contribute to care planning, risk assessments and accurate record keeping.
- Act as a positive role model, promoting Shaw Healthcare's values and delivering excellent standards of care.
About You
You will need to have:
- Previous experience working within a residential elderly care setting.
- Experience supporting people living with dementia.
- Confidence in administering medication and maintaining accurate records.
- A QCF/NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care (or be working towards it)
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to lead by example.
- The ability to remain calm, professional and supportive in challenging situations.
