SENIOR CHILDREN’S RESIDENTIAL SUPPORT WORKER – BRAND-NEW CHILDREN’S HOME

Near Spalding, Lincolnshire

£40,186 Salary + Up to £2,000 Joining Bonus + £250 Monthly On-Call Allowance

Average 40.25 Hours Per Week | Small 2-Bed Home | EBD / SEMH

READY FOR A SENIOR ROLE WHERE YOU CAN ACTUALLY MAKE AN IMPACT?

We’re opening a brand-new, two-bed children’s home near Spalding and we’re looking for an experienced Senior Children’s Residential Support Worker to become a key part of the team from day one.

This isn’t a huge residential service with endless staff, multiple units and dozens of moving parts. It’s a small home supporting a maximum of two young people, with a close-knit staff team and a clear focus on providing outstanding, consistent care.

If you’re an experienced Children’s Residential Support Worker or Senior who knows what good care looks like and wants more responsibility, a strong salary and the chance to help shape a new home from the beginning, we want to hear from you.

THE PACKAGE

  • £40,186 salary
  • Average 40.25 hours per week
  • Up to £2,000 joining bonus
  • £250 per month on-call allowance – an additional £3,000 per year

That gives you a potential first-year package of up to £45,186.

ABOUT THE HOME

Our Spalding home is a brand-new, small two-bed children’s residential home, supporting young people with EBD, SEMH, trauma and complex needs.

Our approach is therapeutic, trauma-informed and relationship-based, incorporating:

  • Positive Behaviour Support (PBS)
  • PACE
  • Trauma-informed practice
  • Attachment-informed care
  • Restorative approaches
  • Relationship-based care

With only two young people, staff have the time and opportunity to build genuine relationships, provide consistent support and make a meaningful difference.

We want the home to feel exactly like that — a home, not an institution.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

YOUR ROLE

As a Senior Children’s Residential Support Worker, you’ll be an important part of the leadership of the home. You won’t simply be there to complete shifts. You’ll help set the standard.

Working closely with the Registered Manager, you’ll support and guide the staff team while remaining actively involved in the day-to-day care of the young people.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing high-quality, child-centred care
  • Leading shifts and providing direction to the staff team
  • Supporting and mentoring Residential Support Workers
  • Building positive and trusting relationships with young people
  • Supporting young people through challenging situations using calm, trauma-informed approaches
  • Ensuring care plans, risk assessments and support strategies are followed
  • Maintaining clear and professional records
  • Supporting safeguarding practice within the home
  • Helping maintain high standards throughout the service
  • Supporting activities, education, appointments and everyday routines
  • Working closely with the Registered Manager and wider professional network
  • Participating in the home’s on-call arrangements

Most importantly, you'll help create an environment where young people feel safe, valued, understood and supported to progress.

WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

We’re looking for someone with genuine experience in children’s residential care who is confident taking the lead on shift.

You might already be working as a Senior Support Worker, Team Leader or Senior Residential Childcare Worker.

Or you may be an experienced Children’s Residential Support Worker who is ready to take that next step.

You’ll need to be:

  • Experienced within children’s residential care
  • Confident leading a shift and supporting other staff
  • Calm and resilient when situations become challenging
  • Passionate about achieving positive outcomes for young people
  • A strong communicator
  • Reliable and consistent
  • Comfortable making decisions and taking responsibility
  • Knowledgeable about safeguarding
  • Able to work as part of a small, close-knit team
  • A full UK driving licence holder
