Residential Senior Support Worker – Children’s Home
Location: Gloucester Salary: £36862 - £38,662* (inclusive of sleep-ins – approx. 7 per month) Job Type: Full-time, Permanent Schedule: Shift work, including some weekends

Carbrey Group is expanding, and we are looking for compassionate and dedicated Residential Support Workers to join our specialist children’s home in Gloucester. This is an exciting opportunity to take on a leadership role within a supportive, family run organisation where you will help create safe, stable, and nurturing environments for children and young people with emotional and behavioural needs.
Our new specialist home combines therapeutic care approaches, in-house behavioural analysis, structured support, and individualised care for children with complex needs, helping them build resilience, stability, and brighter futures.

About Us
Carbrey Group is a family run organisation providing high quality residential care for vulnerable children and young people across Gloucestershire. We are committed to creating warm, stable, and nurturing homes where children can thrive through trauma informed, child centred care.
The Role
As a Senior Residential Support Worker, you will support the Registered Manager and wider team to deliver outstanding care and positive outcomes for children and young people within a Residential Children's Care Home.
Key responsibilities:
- Support children to feel safe, valued, and cared for
- Build positive, trusting relationships with children, families, and professionals
- Help children process past experiences and develop life skills
- Support emotional regulation and positive behaviour through therapeutic care strategies
- Promote a calm, structured, and nurturing home environment
- Maintain accurate records and reports using IT systems
- Lead shifts and support the day to day running of the home when required.
- Provide guidance, encouragement and positive role modelling to team members.
- Support the Registered Manager and Deputy Manager in developing a strong, reflective and supportive team culture.

Requirements
Essential:
- Full UK Driving Licence (manual), held for at least 12 months
- Willingness to work shift patterns, including weekends
- Ability to work within a safeguarding and trauma-informed environment
- At least 1 years' experience working with children and young people who have experienced trauma or complex behavioural needs
Desirable:
- Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent) - can be working towards
You will also be:
- Patient, resilient, and compassionate
- Energetic and proactive in your approach
- A strong team player with good communication skills
- Committed to improving outcomes for children and young people
