This is a full-time post working 37 hours per week from Monday to Friday, with a flexible working approach around requisite core hours. On occasion you may be required to work outside of your usual working hours to meet the needs of the service.
You'll have flexibility in hybrid working with a requirement to be office based two days a week at Halford House, undertaking visits and appointments and working remotely from home. You'll be required to travel across the city and occasionally further afield to undertake visits to people in their homes, undertake property visits and viewings and to attend meetings.
What You’ll Be Doing
As a Senior Supported Living Development Officer, you'll play a key role in helping people who draw on Adult Social Care services to understand their housing options, make informed choices, and successfully move into accommodation that meets their needs and aspirations. Working across a range of Supported Living, Extra Care, and other housing pathways, you'll support people to achieve greater independence, choice, and control over where and how they live.

You'll lead the day-to-day delivery of the Supported Living service, providing clear direction, support, and motivation to your team in line with the Council's Vision, Values and Leadership Qualities. By fostering a positive, high-performing culture, you'll empower colleagues to deliver outstanding outcomes for residents while maintaining high standards of practice, quality, and service delivery.
Acting as the first point of management contact for complex cases and service issues, you'll provide professional advice and guidance to staff, partners, and stakeholders. You'll represent the service at multi-disciplinary and multi-agency forums, helping to resolve complex matters, manage risks, and coordinate effective responses that place people at the centre of decision-making.
What You’ll Need
This role is all about making a real difference to people's lives by delivering high-quality supported living services and developing innovative solutions that promote independence and wellbeing. You'll bring experience of providing or overseeing social care, health, or housing services that are responsive to the needs of diverse communities, with a strong understanding of how to tailor support for a multi-racial, multi-cultural, and multi-lingual population.
You'll be confident working collaboratively across social care, health, housing, and partner organisations, building strong relationships and contributing effectively to multi-agency meetings. With a sound knowledge of social care and housing legislation, policy, and best practice, you'll be able to identify risks, drive positive outcomes, and develop creative, coordinated solutions to complex challenges.
Just as importantly, you'll have a proactive, can-do approach and outstanding communication skills. You'll demonstrate kindness, empathy, tact, and diplomacy when working with people who draw on Adult Social Care services, ensuring their voices are heard and their needs remain at the heart of everything you do. Your ability to work compassionately with individuals, families, colleagues, and partners will be key to delivering high-quality supported living services that empower people to live as independently as possible.
