Senior Surveyor

Location: Buxton, Derbyshire
Salary: Up to £65,000 (Dependent on Experience)
Hours: 37 Hours per week

About Alliance Norse

Alliance Norse is a partnership between Norse Group and High Peak Borough Council and Staffordshire Moorlands District Council. The Joint Venture (JV) company was formed in 2022 to provide a number of services to the two Councils. As from the 1st April 2025, the JV also included the Estates & Asset Management functions.

Opportunity

An opportunity has arisen for a Senior Surveyor/Asset Management Surveyor to join the Estates team to assist in the delivery of current Estate & Asset Management services, working alongside the established Estates team and client.

Role Details

The role will require attendance in the clients Council offices at Leek but there is also the opportunity to work from the Alliance Norse modern offices at Harpur Hill. We employ an agile and flexible working strategy allowing staff to work some days at home but the senior nature the role and requirement to liaise with the client will require office attendance at least 3 days a week.

Projects

The current workload includes a comprehensive programme of estates actions over a diverse property portfolio. This is a senior and high-profile position within the team with the surveyor being responsible for undertaking all the activities associated at this senior level, in addition to supporting more junior team members. This role will have extensive engagement with the clients senior management team. In addition to all the general practice estates activities, ideally the candidate will have extensive knowledge of strategic asset management and therefore be able to take forward the actions from the clients recently completed SAMP.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
