You'll work with a diverse client base, develop meaningful connections, and gain experience that extends beyond your local team. Together, we grow, belong and impact.

About The Team

The Forvis Mazars Property team is an advisory team providing expert or specialist advice to our clients, both internal and external. The team comprises Chartered Surveyors / Valuers and Property, Plant and Machinery valuers and we are seeking an additional surveyor to supplement our team's services.

About The Role

This role is currently flexible and will depend on the skill set of the applicants. We are seeking surveyors with any of the following skill sets:

  • Building Surveying - if you are a building surveyor, whether newly qualified or with a few years industry experience, we welcome applications from such professionals to enable us to add to the team's broad range of skills. As a building surveyor, you will need to have an understanding of cost-based valuations, in particular Depreciated Replacement Cost (DRC) or Contractor's Method valuations, as well as a willingness to broaden your valuation knowledge to support our valuation surveyors in reviewing and / or performing valuations. Your building surveying experience should also include some of these areas: building insurance valuations, development appraisals/feasibility studies, capital allowances, and dilapidations.

  • Property (real estate) valuation surveying - if you are a newly qualified or have a few years industry experience as a property valuer, you will feel right at home in our team. Your role will be to review, critique, and challenge valuations performed by professional advisors and internal management for financial reporting purposes, as part of the firm's Audit function. You could be residential, commercial, or specialized (e.g., trading property), as we have a very wide range of property clients and you will have the opportunity to develop your valuation knowledge across a significant range of assets.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

  • Plant and Equipment (Machinery) valuation surveyor - If you are newly qualified (RICS or ASA) in this specialist field, we welcome your application to join our team, to bolster the existing plant and equipment valuation surveyors. It would be useful to have a knowledge and experience in valuations of a broad range of P&M for financial reporting and insurance purposes, as this will be the main area of focus. We will also provide on-the-job training into property valuations to enable you to support the wider team, which will include real estate, where many of the principles will be aligned to your knowledge and experience.

The role that we have available is open to candidates who are setting out in their career and will provide you with opportunities to learn, develop, and grow with the team and firm. We ideally require you to be qualified (MRICS, ASA, or similar) but will consider candidates who are about to sit their final professional body exams/interviews.

What You'll Do

  • Work with UK audit teams to review valuations and challenge key assumptions across property, plant, and equipment. How would you approach these critical discussions?
  • Review and challenge building dilapidation costs for provisioning. Do you have building surveying expertise that could facilitate such reviews?
  • Conduct Capital Allowances assessments. Do you have the expertise to lead in this area?
  • Lead meetings with audit teams, clients, and advisors to ensure clear communication. Can you effectively drive collaboration across diverse teams?

  • Support new business efforts through tenders, proposals, and pitches. Are you ready to help grow the firm?
  • Provide market insights and training to audit teams. Could you be the go-to expert on property trends and compliance?
