About Waldeck
Morson Praxis' sister company Waldeck is looking for an experienced Senior Surveyor to join our growing Commercial team.
This is a great opportunity for a Chartered Surveyor looking to take the lead on projects, manage multidisciplinary project teams and develop their career within a growing consultancy.
You’ll take responsibility for the successful delivery of a varied portfolio of projects, with a particular focus on residential and care developments with project values of up to £30m, acting as the project lead and key point of contact throughout the project lifecycle.
Working closely with and reporting to an Associate Surveyor, you’ll have the opportunity to take significant ownership of your projects while continuing to develop your technical, commercial and leadership experience.

What You’ll Be Doing
As a Senior Surveyor, you’ll act as the lead surveyor on your allocated projects, taking responsibility for project delivery, client relationships and the coordination of the wider project team.
Your Responsibilities Will Include
- Acting as Project Lead on residential, care and other development projects with values of up to £30m.
- Managing projects from inception through to completion, ensuring they are delivered to the required quality, programme and commercial expectations.
- Leading and coordinating all internal and external team members involved in your projects.
- Acting as a key point of contact for clients, contractors, consultants and other project stakeholders.
- Providing commercial, contractual and technical advice throughout the project lifecycle.
- Preparing and managing tender and contract documentation.
- Producing cost plans, estimates, contract reports and other project documentation.
- Administering contracts, including valuations, variations, payments and certification.
- Chairing and minuting project meetings and ensuring accurate records and actions are maintained.
- Undertaking and coordinating site visits, handovers, defect inspections and project reporting.
- Monitoring project progress, identifying risks and issues and ensuring appropriate action is taken.
- Supporting and mentoring junior members of the surveying team.
- Ensuring projects are delivered in accordance with Waldeck’s internal procedures, quality standards and commercial requirements.
- Supporting fee proposals, bids and wider business development activity where required.
- Providing regular project updates and reporting to the Associate Surveyor.

What We’re Looking For
We’re looking for a confident and commercially aware Chartered Surveyor who is comfortable taking ownership of projects and leading project teams.
Ideally, You’ll Have
- MRICS status or an equivalent professional qualification.
- At least 3 years’ post-qualification experience.
- Demonstrable experience delivering residential and care sector projects, including projects with values of up to £30m.
- Experience acting as a project lead and taking responsibility for projects from inception through to completion.
- The ability to effectively lead and coordinate multidisciplinary project teams.
- Strong client and stakeholder management skills.
- A good understanding of construction contracts, commercial management and project delivery.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent planning and organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- A collaborative approach with the ability to support and develop more junior colleagues.
- Strong commercial judgement and a proactive approach to identifying and resolving project issues.
