Role Description
The Senior Surveyor will lead and deliver a variety of land and measured building surveys, primarily in and around Hertfordshire and London, with some flexibility to work from home for reporting and data processing tasks. Day-to-day responsibilities include planning and undertaking topographical and measured building surveys on site, overseeing data capture using appropriate surveying instruments, and ensuring accurate transfer of survey information into CAD and BIM/Revit formats. The role involves supervising junior team members, checking survey outputs for quality and compliance with company standards, and liaising with clients to clarify requirements, provide updates, and address technical queries. The Senior Surveyor will also contribute to project coordination, health and safety compliance, and continuous improvement of survey methods and workflows. This is a full-time hybrid role, combining site-based work with remote working as appropriate.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
