Team Enistic | Oxford (Hybrid / UK-Remote) | £42,000 – £50,000 | Permanent, Full-Time

Carbon reporting has moved from nice-to-have to business-critical — and organisations facing complex, high-profile compliance obligations need advisers they can genuinely trust. At Enistic, that's exactly the work we do. We're looking for an experienced, commercially confident Senior Sustainability Consultant to lead our most demanding client engagements from brief to boardroom.

What you'll be doing

This is a senior, client-facing role for someone who's as comfortable producing rigorous technical analysis as they are presenting recommendations to a board. You'll:

  • Lead senior carbon and compliance programmes — ESOS, SBTi, IFRS S1 & S2, TCFD, CRFD, CBAM and related frameworks — from start to finish
  • Act as the primary relationship holder for senior client contacts, including C-suite and board members
  • Represent Enistic in new business conversations and pitches alongside our commercial team
  • Produce GHG inventories, compliance reports and strategic roadmaps to a standard fit for regulatory submission and board scrutiny
  • Translate complex technical and regulatory requirements into clear, actionable advice
  • Conduct detailed energy analysis and Scope 1, 2 and 3 emissions calculations
  • Provide quality oversight and mentoring to more junior colleagues, and help shape how we grow the practice

What we're looking for

This isn't an early-career role — we're after someone with a substantial track record in sustainability, carbon or energy consultancy. You'll bring:

  • Demonstrated experience leading high-stakes programmes (SBTi, TCFD, IFRS S1 & S2, CRFD, CBAM or similar)
  • Real credibility presenting to boards, senior management and C-suite audiences — for delivery and for winning work
  • Strong working knowledge of GHG reporting frameworks (GHG Protocol, Scope 1, 2 & 3)
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills — presence and persuasiveness, not just technical accuracy
  • Strong numerical literacy and proficiency with data analysis tools (Excel or equivalent)
  • The ability to manage multiple senior projects independently

Nice to have: international or cross-border regulatory experience (CBAM, EU Taxonomy, CSRD), a relevant degree, professional membership (IEMA, CEnv, CFA ESG), or experience with carbon accounting software.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

About Team Enistic

Enistic is a UK-based sustainability and energy consultancy, founded in 2002 and headquartered in Oxford. We help mid-market organisations comply with sustainability legislation, measure, report and reduce their carbon emissions - spanning energy management, carbon reporting, ESG strategy and compliance with frameworks such as the ones listed above.

Much of our work exists because clients face regulatory reporting obligations, and at this level those obligations are often complex, high-profile and commercially significant. Alongside our consultancy, we run a Carbon Accounting Platform and offer a Sustainability 360 Program, so partner companies can deliver tailored solutions to their own clients.

We're a team of around 15 people who take real pride in the quality and integrity of our advice. You'd be joining a specialist advisory team with a strong culture of technical rigour and collaborative peer review — and at this level, a genuine say in how we deliver and grow the practice.
