Senior Sustainability Manager

Brighton & Hove | Hybrid – minimum 3 days in the office

Are you an experienced sustainability professional looking for the opportunity to own and shape sustainability strategy at organisational level?

We’re looking for a Senior Sustainability Manager to take end-to-end ownership of sustainability strategy for our dynamic, international client.

Reporting directly to the CFO, this is a highly visible role combining strategy, carbon and sustainability reporting, commercial thinking, stakeholder influence, and external industry engagement.

The Opportunity

You’ll be the organisation’s sustainability subject matter expert, responsible for evolving the sustainability strategy, targets, and decarbonisation pathway and ensuring they translate into measurable business outcomes.

This isn’t simply a reporting or compliance position. You’ll work across the organisation to embed sustainability into commercial decision-making, governance, and long-term strategy, while influencing and empowering colleagues to take ownership of sustainability goals.

What You’ll Do

  • Own and evolve the organisation’s sustainability strategy, targets, and decarbonisation pathway.
  • Lead strategic priorities including carbon reduction, circularity, and sustainability leadership.
  • Measure, analyse, and report environmental impact and sustainability performance.
  • Lead annual Group sustainability reporting and event-specific sustainability reporting.
  • Maintain robust carbon accounting and GHG reporting.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant sustainability legislation, frameworks, and best practice.
  • Manage sustainability consultants, suppliers, and external partners.
  • Translate complex sustainability data into clear recommendations for senior leadership.
  • Coach and influence sustainability goal owners across the organisation.
  • Embed sustainability into commercial and operational decision-making.
  • Develop partnerships across areas such as travel, accommodation, and logistics.
  • Identify opportunities where sustainability can contribute to revenue, efficiency, and commercial performance.
  • Represent the organisation externally through industry groups, boards, and strategic partnerships.
  • Work closely with Finance, Marketing & Communications, L&D, and operational teams.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
