Senior Sustainability Manager
Location: Brighton & Hove
Working Hours: 35 hours per week, with flexible hybrid working and a minimum of 3 days in the office
Salary: Competitive
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Sustainability Manager to take ownership of an organisation's sustainability strategy and play a key role in embedding sustainability across the wider business. This is a high-impact position offering the opportunity to shape strategy, drive measurable outcomes and influence commercial decision-making.
With continued growth expected across the sustainability function, there is strong potential for progression into a Head of Sustainability position within 1-2 years.
Key Responsibilities
- Own and develop the organisation's sustainability strategy, targets, and decarbonisation pathway.
- Lead key strategic priorities including carbon reduction, circularity, and sustainability leadership.
- Translate sustainability strategy into measurable, commercially focused outcomes, delivered to time and budget.
- Oversee sustainability resources, consultants, suppliers, and strategic partnerships.
- Measure, analyse, and report environmental performance, identifying trends, risks, and opportunities.
- Lead the annual sustainability reporting process and key sustainability communications.
- Ensure sustainability activities align with relevant legislation, standards, frameworks, and industry best practice.
- Provide expert guidance, coaching, and constructive challenge to colleagues across the organisation.
- Work closely with Finance, Marketing, Communications, and other teams to embed sustainability into business decisions.
- Identify opportunities to connect sustainability initiatives with commercial performance and revenue generation.
- Represent the organisation externally through industry groups, partnerships, and professional networks.
- Support sustainability awareness, learning, and capability-building across the business.

Skills & Experience
The successful candidate will have proven experience developing and implementing sustainability strategies, alongside strong knowledge of carbon accounting, emissions reduction, environmental reporting, and sustainability frameworks.
- You will have excellent analytical and Excel skills, experience working with sustainability measurement platforms, and the ability to translate complex data into clear business recommendations.
- Strong stakeholder management skills are essential, including experience influencing senior leaders and managing external consultants and suppliers.
