Systems Requirements Engineer – Defence industry
Luton (4-5 days per week onsite)
One year contract
Up to £81.80 p/h Inside IR35
SC clearance is essential and 4-5 days a week onsite in Luton
We are seeking an experienced security cleared Systems Requirements Engineer to support the development and definition of requirements for complex Defence projects. The role will sit within a highly technical engineering environment, working closely with engineering domains and subject-matter experts to develop system requirements, support system design, and define interfaces required to enable successful design and integration activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the development, capture and management of system requirements throughout the engineering lifecycle.
- Contribute to system design and interface definition, working closely with engineering teams across multiple technical domains.
- Support the integration of requirements across complex systems and ensure alignment with wider system and product objectives.
- Work collaboratively with engineering teams and technical subject-matter experts to resolve requirements and interface issues.
- Contribute to engineering activities across the full systems lifecycle, with the potential to progress from requirements definition into: System integration, Qualification, Verification and Validation.
- Work within an Agile engineering environment, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to deliver complex engineering solutions.

- Live security clearance (SC).
- Experience in systems engineering and requirements development within a complex defence, aerospace or other highly regulated engineering environment.
- Experience developing and defining system requirements.
- Understanding of systems engineering principles, design and interface definition.
- Experience working across the full engineering lifecycle.
- Experience supporting systems integration, verification and/or validation activities would be advantageous.
- Experience working in an Agile engineering environment.
- Experience using MATLAB for modelling and analysis.
- Experience using Cameo Systems Modeler or similar MBSE/modelling tools.
- Experience within Electronic Warfare (EW) or other complex defence systems.
- Exposure to systems integration, qualification, verification and validation.
