PE Global is currently recruiting for an experienced Senior System Engineer to join our MSD client based in Cambourne, UK. The role is an initial 24-month contract and the rate for this role is £31 PAYE p/hour or £41.90 Umbrella p/hour.
Key Responsibilities
- Define and manage System, Hardware, Embedded, ATE, Software and Integration requirements throughout the product lifecycle.
- Contribute to the design and development of multidisciplinary connected device and IoT solutions.
- Define technical protocols and support system architecture and integration activities.
- Lead technical workstreams within multidisciplinary R&D projects.
- Provide technical problem solving and develop proof-of-concept solutions to address complex engineering challenges.
- Support the design and execution of testing, investigations and field testing activities.
- Work closely with System Engineers, Embedded Software Developers, Hardware Engineers, Integration Engineers and Backend and Frontend teams.
- Work within a Product and Platform team to deliver solutions that are valuable, viable, usable and technically feasible.
- Support the development and delivery of connected device products from discovery through to delivery.

Requirements
- BSc/MSc in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in Systems Engineering within multidisciplinary systems.
- Experience working with communication products, embedded systems, hardware and RF systems.
- Strong understanding of complex IoT systems and connected devices.
- Experience working on complex multidisciplinary engineering projects.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to assess technical challenges and compare alternative solutions.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to work within a structured process environment.
- A hands-on approach with a strong interest in learning and innovation.

Advantageous Experience:
- Experience with Linux, Atlassian or Azure DevOps.
- Coding experience in C, C#, Java or Python.
- Experience with RF communication technologies such as BLE, Wi-Fi, LTE-M or LoRa.
- Knowledge of backend systems, serverless solutions and cloud-based infrastructure for IoT devices.
Additional Information
- Hybrid working with a minimum of 2 days per week onsite in Cambourne.
- Some travel may be required depending on project requirements.
- The interview process will involve multiple stages, including CV review, technical interviews and a team-fit interview.
- Interviews may be conducted both online and onsite.
