Hydrogen Fuel Systems Engineer

ARCA is supporting an aerospace programme to bring in an experienced Hydrogen Fuel Systems Engineer on a contract basis.

This is a hands-on role focused on the design, integration and testing of gaseous and cryogenic hydrogen fuel systems, working across storage, distribution, conditioning and wider aircraft interfaces.

The Work:

  • Hydrogen fuel-system design, architecture and integration
  • Gaseous and cryogenic hydrogen storage, distribution and conditioning
  • LH2 / cryogenic and high-pressure gas systems
  • Fuel-system component selection and integration
  • Pressure, leak and system testing / validation
  • Thermodynamics and fluid / gas dynamics
  • System safety including FHA, FMEA and FTA
  • Supplier management and technical delivery

What They’re Looking for:

  • Strong experience developing hydrogen or cryogenic fuel systems
  • Experience with hydrogen storage, distribution and conditioning systems
  • Good understanding of thermodynamics and fluid / gas dynamics
  • Hands-on experience taking systems through development, integration and validation
  • Experience with system safety and reliability methods
  • Aerospace and associated certification experience would be beneficial
