Spacecraft Control Systems Engineer
Space Systems | Guidance, Navigation & Control
Location: London | Hybrid Working (typically 3 days on-site)
Salary: up to £90,000 Gross Per Annum
The company
Developing advanced technologies across the space, aerospace, defence, and national security sectors, delivering complex systems that support critical missions in some of the world's most challenging environments. Working alongside government, commercial, and international partners, engineering teams contribute to the development of next-generation space capabilities and mission-critical technologies.
Operating within a highly collaborative and multidisciplinary environment, engineers are encouraged to take ownership, broaden their technical expertise, and contribute throughout the entire programme lifecycle, from concept development through to operational deployment.
The role
As a Spacecraft Control Systems Engineer, you will play a key role in the design, development, integration, and verification of spacecraft guidance, navigation, and control solutions.
You will contribute across the full subsystem lifecycle, from requirements definition and concept development through to implementation, verification, validation, and support during early operational phases. Working closely with systems, software, hardware, and mission engineering teams, you will help ensure control system performance aligns with mission objectives and wider spacecraft requirements.

Alongside project delivery, you may also have the opportunity to contribute to future space technologies, mission studies, research activities, and proposal development, helping shape the next generation of space capability.
Your background
- Experience developing or delivering Attitude & Orbit Control Systems (AOCS), Guidance Navigation & Control (GNC), ADCS, or spacecraft control systems
- Experience working on one or more of the following: Earth Observation satellites, Communications satellites, Navigation satellites, Defence or National Security space programmes, Scientific or exploration missions, LEO, MEO, GEO, or deep-space spacecraft
- Proven ability to translate mission or customer requirements into control system solutions
- Experience supporting system design, modelling, integration, verification, and validation activities
- Understanding of spacecraft dynamics, estimation, guidance, navigation, and control principles
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary engineering teams
- Comfortable working across the full engineering lifecycle from concept through delivery

Desired
- Experience with spacecraft simulation, modelling, or mission analysis tools
- Exposure to mission operations, commissioning, or in-orbit support activities
- Experience supporting space technology development, feasibility studies, or R&D programmes
- Previous involvement in technical proposals, bids, or customer-facing activities
- Understanding of wider spacecraft subsystems and systems engineering methodologies
