About The Post
This post is full time and permanent, working 35 hours per week.
The role supports hybrid working, with a blend of on-campus and remote working. While our team currently works flexibly, we are moving towards a structure of regular on-site attendance (expected roughly once a week) to support stakeholder engagement and project delivery. Working arrangements will be agreed in line with the University’s smart working framework and the needs of the service.
We are looking for an experienced Senior Systems Analyst to join our Enterprise Systems Operations (ESO) team within Digital Technology Services (DTS) at the University of Westminster.
The post holder will take a leading role in the proactive management of production environments, drive automation, troubleshoot complex incidents, and mentor junior staff. Key responsibilities include capacity planning, implementing monitoring solutions, and managing change to minimize operational risks.
They will support the effective and efficient operational delivery of these services and ensure they are developed, implemented, and maintained in accordance with best practice and approved standards to support the University’s strategic objectives and digital transformation agenda.
- A proactive, positive attitude with the ability to take ownership and responsibility to deliver on agreed strategic objectives.
- Experience of supporting, developing, monitoring, and maintaining physical and virtual Windows Server Administration and Patch Management, Microsoft 365 and Azure Administration, Endpoint Device Administration (Windows/Apple), and a focus on Continual Service Improvement.
- Experience of working successfully with internal and external stakeholders, collaborating, and leading activities on large cross-team development and refurbishment projects.
- Experience of working in an ITIL-based environment with change and incident management and delivering effectively against Service Level Agreements.
- The ability to communicate views and explain technical concepts to a wide audience, working effectively in a team, setting a good example, and providing coaching and guidance.
