Senior Systems Engineer
Bath
£60,000 - £70,000
If you're the kind of engineer who enjoys understanding how things work, solving complex technical problems and getting hands-on with cutting-edge technology, this could be exactly what you're looking for.
We're partnering with an innovative medical device company that is entering an exciting phase of product development, including a major electronics redesign and manufacturing transfer. They're looking for a Senior Systems Engineer to join their talented engineering team and help shape the future of a life-changing diagnostic platform.
This isn't a pure design role. It's about bringing electronics, firmware, software and mechanics together, improving system performance, supporting EMC testing, troubleshooting issues, and working closely with design, manufacturing and scientific teams to deliver robust, reliable products.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
