Senior Systems Engineer – HIL & V&V
Automotive | Contract until March 2027 | Up to £34 per hour
An opportunity has become available for an experienced Senior Systems Engineer to join a major automotive engineering programme, supporting the development, integration and validation of complex vehicle systems.
This is a hands-on engineering role with a strong focus on HIL / V&V test environments, systems integration, requirements and automotive communication networks.
The Role
You’ll be responsible for:
- Developing, building and supporting HIL / verification & validation rigs
- Supporting systems integration, testing and formal engineering sign-off
- Defining and managing system requirements and interfaces
- Working with automotive communication networks and system architecture
- Investigating complex system and integration issues
- Supporting verification strategies and validation activities
- Working across hardware, software and wider engineering teams
- Driving technical solutions through the full Systems Engineering lifecycle

What We're Looking For
- Strong Systems Engineering / V&V experience within automotive or a similar safety-critical environment
- Practical experience developing or building HIL / V&V test rigs
- Experience with automotive networks such as CAN, LIN and Ethernet
- Good understanding of requirements definition and interface documentation
- Experience with MATLAB / Simulink
- Knowledge of SysML / Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE)
- Ability to investigate and resolve complex technical and integration problems

This is a senior-level position suited to an engineer who is comfortable taking ownership of complex technical problems and working across multiple engineering disciplines.
Contract: Until end of March 2027
Rate: Up to £34 per hour
