Senior Systems Engineer – Microsoft & VMware (Multiyear migration)

£450–£550 per day | Outside IR35
6-month contract with extension potential

Join a globally recognised MedTech and life sciences organisation whose technology supports scientific innovation, diagnostics and products that improve human health. With operations spanning multiple countries, this is an opportunity to work within a complex global enterprise infrastructure environment.

This is a hands-on Senior Infrastructure Engineer role focused on VMware and Microsoft enterprise infrastructure, including Windows Server, Azure, Active Directory/Entra ID, Microsoft 365 and Dynamics. A key focus will be supporting a major tenant-to-tenant migration, alongside wider infrastructure transformation and global site transitions across cloud and on-premises environments.

Responsibilities

  • Engineer and support VMware, Azure and Microsoft enterprise infrastructure.
  • Support the delivery of a major tenant-to-tenant migration across Microsoft cloud environments.
  • Manage Windows Server, Active Directory/Entra ID, Microsoft 365 and Dynamics environments.
  • Troubleshoot production infrastructure and automate operational improvements using PowerShell.

Requirements

  • Strong senior-level experience across VMware and Microsoft enterprise infrastructure.
  • Hands-on experience with Windows Server, Azure, Active Directory/Entra ID, Microsoft 365 and Dynamics.
  • Proven experience delivering tenant-to-tenant migrations, infrastructure migrations or M&A integrations.
  • Strong PowerShell, troubleshooting and production support skills.

Contract Details

  • Day rate: £450–£550 per day
  • IR35 status: Outside IR35
  • Duration: 6 months initially, with extension potential
  • Working model: Hybrid - Greater Manchester Area
