Senior Systems Engineer
An exciting opportunity has become available for an experienced Senior Systems Engineer to join a leading engineering organisation delivering cutting-edge technology to defence and maritime customers worldwide.
This is an excellent opportunity for a systems engineering professional looking to work on complex, mission-critical products from concept through to in-service support. You'll play a key role in the full engineering lifecycle, working alongside multidisciplinary teams to develop innovative solutions for highly regulated environments.
As a Senior Systems Engineer, you'll take responsibility for the design, development, integration and support of advanced engineering systems, ensuring projects are delivered to demanding technical and customer requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Defining, managing and verifying system requirements throughout the engineering lifecycle.
- Supporting technical aspects of bids and proposals.
- Leading systems integration, verification and qualification activities.
- Planning and executing product trials, testing and validation.
- Producing and managing technical work packages.
- Supporting design proving, commissioning and in-service support activities.
- Collaborating with multidisciplinary engineering teams to deliver high-quality technical solutions.
- Providing technical guidance and contributing to continuous improvement across engineering projects.

Requirements
We're looking for an experienced Systems Engineer with a strong technical background and the ability to work across the full systems engineering lifecycle.
You'll ideally have:
- Degree, HND or equivalent qualification in an engineering discipline.
- Significant experience working as a Systems Engineer within a complex engineering environment.
- Strong understanding of requirements capture, management and verification.
- Experience using requirements management tools.
- Knowledge of Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) principles and methodologies.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience leading technical work packages or engineering teams.
- Previous experience within defence, maritime, aerospace or other highly regulated industries.
- Experience of sonar systems, underwater sensing, or the underwater battlespace would be highly advantageous but is not essential.
